Having spent his whole career in insurance, Graham has an excellent and broad technical pedigree, having managed underwriting and claims units in personal and commercial lines including motor, property and casualty lines in different international markets.
Most recently his roles have been in providing oversight of insurance risk management in the Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East regions of RSA’s Emerging Markets Division and from May 2014 to April 2015 Graham played a central role as a consultant in the Group Corporate Centre’s re-write of standards as part of a strengthening of a governance and risk control framework.
He has also had a broad responsibility for portfolio management, involving principally the provision of regional oversight, challenge and guidance to the local teams looking after whole books of business in both commercial and personal lines. This extended to insurance risk covering the portfolio control environment, the risk management framework, underwriting and claims licences and technical audit.
Graham has also been heavily involved in technical training, running underwriting workshops alongside a programme of portfolio management and insurance risk training.
Graham’s experience has been broadened through a wide range of roles including account manager for major multinational clients; product development leader with responsibility for reviewing policy wordings and rating schedules; reinsurance manager looking after outward treaty programmes in Italy, Latin America, Europe and Middle East.
