Remembering George Maxwell: A Respected Colleague and Friend

On Monday 19th May 2025, members of the MAP Training team joined many others from across the insurance industry to say a heartfelt farewell to our colleague and friend, George Maxwell.

The large gathering at George’s funeral was a genuine reflection of the impact he had on so many lives. Throughout his distinguished career—spanning numerous roles at RSA, QBE, Brit, and Covéa—George embodied his belief that “insurance is a people business.” He brought this mantra to life in everything he did, building strong, lasting relationships with colleagues, brokers, and fellow professionals, including his valued contributions to the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow.

George played a particularly important role in the early days of MAP Training. As we recently marked our 10th anniversary, we’ve reflected on how critical his support was in helping us secure and deliver some of our first client projects. His belief in us, and in the value of people-focused development, will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his wife Margo and the entire Maxwell family at this difficult time.

Rest in peace, George. You will be greatly missed and always so fondly remembered
