Supporting our clients in a virtual world

We have been really impressed with how quickly a number of our insurer clients have adapted their working practices to enable their staff to continue to provide great service to their brokers and customers during the current pandemic.

In support of this, we are delighted to have worked in partnership with QBE to design and deliver a new virtual classroom session to hundreds of underwriters across the globe. Making use of a virtual classroom platform, the joint team of Katrina O’Malley, Senior Manager, Sales Enablement, QBE and Alan Thompson and Peter Turrell from MAP Training, provided rapid response to a request from the business for some targeted training – designing a development module to be delivered remotely and then rolling this out in multiple sessions to underwriters across all countries where QBE has a presence.

The feedback from attendees has been extremely positive and Katrina has commented as follows:-

“The following participant feedback provides an excellent summary of the response to this virtual training session from our underwriters – ‘I thoroughly enjoyed the session, both tutors knew their topic very well and it was interactive, lively and engaging. It was good to finally have a course which was designed for underwriters and therefore used relevant examples’.

The way Alan and Peter have truly partnered with me and the team has been fantastic and resulted in an extremely well received solution for our people. Their flexibility, responsiveness to feedback and knowledge they share in the sessions is a credit to them and MAP Training. Thank you both for helping me operationalise this so quickly and seamlessly.”

The team at MAP Training have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and are also pleased with the effective use of the virtual classroom technology to give attendees an insightful and engaging learning experience.

The advances in virtual classroom functionality in recent years have led to increased flexibility in the design and delivery of compelling training programmes. At MAP Training, we are firmly of the view that virtual classroom sessions can be a key element of any blended development programme – not just as a temporary solution to support clients in their current operating environment. We will continue to work with our clients to develop programmes that make use of a range of learning approaches that meet their own unique requirements.
